Over the years, we have received many important and time sensitive requests for assistance and information that exceed the scope of our legal services. As a result, we developed a list of non-profit organizations capable of responding to some of those requests. Also, we’ve developed a list of organizations that may be of assistance for someone you may know who is in need of food, shelter, housing, educational resources, help finding a job, or some other essential life service. Mutual Ground Inc. provides a safety net of services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault while on their journeys toward becoming survivors. All services are victim-centered and focus on advocacy that empowers each individual to make her/his own decisions. All services are offered free of charge with a service area in the Greater Aurora area, including all of Southern Kane and Kendall Counties.
Hesed House is a homeless shelter in Aurora, IL whose mission is to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless and give people the chance to hope again.
NAACP, DuPage County Branch serves DuPage, Kane, Kendall, and Will Counties by providing advocacy services on civil rights, criminal justice, economic empowerment, educational, and health issues for disenfranchised communities.
100 Black Men of Chicago, Inc. provides positive role models for young African-American males and females throughout the Greater Chicago area by pairing them with successful African-American professionals committed to the intellectual development of youth and the economic empowerment of the African-American community based on the following principles: Respect for Family, Spirituality, Justice and Integrity. Weekly mentoring sites are in Chicago, the Western Suburbs and the South Suburbs. College scholarships are also available for qualifying students.
The Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley is a non-profit philanthropic organization that administers individual charitable funds from which grants and scholarships are distributed to benefit the citizens of the Greater Aurora Area, the Tri-Cities and Kendall County Illinois. Aurora Housing Authority’s mission is to promote the original philosophy of public housing as a temporary helping hand by providing housing assistance to those in need with understanding, respect and professionalism. The Chicago Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, Inc. is the public interest law consortium of Chicago's leading law firms. The Lawyers' Committee provides free legal services to people facing civil rights issues and non-profit organizations that need help with transactional matters.
